Abstract
Our project traces the complex historical and cultural production of Midwest’s formative rivers, highlighting both their vulnerabilities and potentials for resistance in the era of climate change. We are particularly interested in understanding the temporal, material, cultural, and political elements that shaped the waterways, their infrastructures, and their communities at a time when climate change was not a part of the planning process.
